The Unforgettable JUMBARA

This holiday I got an unforgettable experience. On July 5, 2012 until July 10, 2012 I joined a Youth Red Cross’s activity, that was JUMBARA. Salatiga sent more than 40 Youth Red Cross and Volunteer Corps from Satya Wacana Kristen University, Islamic Religion High School, Senior High School 1, Senior High School 2, Senior High School 3, Kristen Senior High School 1, Junior High School 1, Junior High School 2, Junior High School 3, Junior High School 5, Junior High

School 6, Junior High School 9, Elementary School 6, Marsudirini 78 Elementary School, and so on. During a month before JUMBARA, we often exercise and prepare everything about JUMBARA, it made my schedule was so full. On July 5, 2012 before we went to Kebumen, the mayor of Salatiga Mr. Yulianto sent us away and he shook our hands one by one. That was great for us.

 There were 35 regencies and cities that join this JUMBARA. During 6 days and 5 nights we slept in awnings, as we know it was so cold when nighttime and it was so hot when daytime, but as member of Youth Red Cross and Volunteer Corps we must be patient and always kept spirit. Day by day passed over with so many funs and educated activities like out bounds, sports, and of course many kind of competitions about Red Cross. All these activities were very determine which regency or city that will be the best. Every day the activities started at 05.30 a.m. and finished at 10.00 p.m. Time was passing quickly, at the last night in Kebumen, all Youth Red Cross and Volunteer Corps from Salatiga were crying together, because we will separate. I was so sad, we were so sad, but behind this sadness we felt happy to know one another.

On July 10, 2012, after closing ceremony, the committee announced the judgment result. Although Salatiga only got the second rank, but it was okay because 5 years ago Salatiga only got the forth rank. And the most important is to be the winner was not our main target. Experience…, this is the best one. We backed to Salatiga with extraordinary happiness and this JUMBARA will be JUMBARA that full of unforgettable memories. Thank you…..
